Aeropay and Worldpay Partner to Enhance Gaming Payments with A2A Technology

Aeropay and Worldpay have announced a strategic partnership aimed at streamlining payments in the gaming industry by integrating Aeropay’s account-to-account (A2A) payment platform with Worldpay’s merchant network. The collaboration, revealed on Wednesday (Oct. 9), will provide U.S. gaming operators with seamless A2A payments and instant payouts.

Joseph Watkins, President of Gaming Solutions at Worldpay, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with Aeropay allows us to offer a new level of A2A services previously unavailable to our clients. By incorporating Aeropay’s A2A solutions and Aerosync technology, we’re providing a faster, more efficient payment option that reduces the time and complexity associated with traditional ACH setups.”

Instant Payouts and Cost Savings for Gaming Operators

Aeropay’s instant payout capabilities enable real-time fund transfers from gaming operators to players—even on weekends, holidays, and after business hours. This integration allows gaming merchants using Worldpay to offer instant withdrawals, enhancing the player experience.

According to a post on Aeropay’s blog, the A2A system eliminates card network fees, significantly lowering payment processing costs—particularly for high-volume gaming transactions.

“By integrating Aeropay’s A2A solutions, gaming merchants can bypass card network fees, dramatically reducing payment processing costs,” the blog post noted.

Growing Demand for Instant Gaming Payouts

Research from PYMNTS Intelligence indicates that approximately 80% of gamers prefer immediate access to their winnings, yet instant payouts remain relatively uncommon. Many so-called “instant” transactions can still take up to 24 hours to process, leading to player frustration.

Given the increasing shift towards online gaming and sports betting, Aeropay and Worldpay’s partnership seeks to address this gap by providing a direct and efficient payment alternative.

The Rise of A2A Payments Beyond Gaming

PYMNTS Intelligence recently highlighted the growing adoption of A2A payments, particularly in the B2B sector, where businesses benefit from faster, more secure transactions. With 36% of consumers already using pay-by-bank methods, experts predict cross-industry adoption could accelerate the transition to direct bank payments.

Major financial institutions are also investing in A2A solutions. Bank of America recently launched its Virtual Payables Direct service, while Visa has expanded its bank-to-bank payment offerings, diversifying beyond traditional card-based transactions.

As A2A payments gain traction, the gaming industry’s shift toward faster, more cost-effective payment methods through partnerships like Aeropay and Worldpay signals a broader trend in digital finance innovation.
